ABOUT RACHEL

Before beginning my studies in UX Design, I worked in the field of music for 12 years. I'm a former educator and operations manager skilled in enriching lives through music, solving complex problems in fast-paced settings, and advocating for others. A strong background in client-facing roles lends itself well to UX Design – strong interpersonal skills, careful listening, and direct communication allow me to analyze and implement users’ wants and needs for an improved experience. I was drawn to the field when I realized the positive impact I could have on others beyond the classroom.

From my past experience, I can bring proven success in customer advocacy, presentation, operations management which relate easily to UX research and design, collaborating on a cross-functional team, and showcase my flexibility and ability to take feedback. Since starting my training in design 2 years ago, I have become well-versed in various software, frameworks, and analysis with a mobile-first focus on end-to-end design and extensive research methodologies.

____

Good design has the power to make someone’s day better, to make a difficult task easier, to even change a life, whereas poor design has the power to do the complete opposite. I knew right away that I wanted to be part of the solution.

I have the personality, soft skills, and technical skills to understand, explain, and improve products and be an advocate for users. I have the ability to make beautiful, cohesive products to help others and am excited to discuss how I can find solutions that change people’s lives for the better.

TESTIMONIALS

"I mentored Rachel while she was a UX Design student at Career Foundry, an online bootcamp. Rachel approached her course and portfolio goals with the attitude of a professional. Despite the difficulties of learning remotely outside a traditional classroom setting, she produced high quality work through the various design stages from research, requirements gathering, information design and usability testing. Furthermore, we did several brainstorming and collaboration sessions together and she was very receptive to feedback and ideation. She will be an asset to any organization."
